Born from shadows and flame, heat and darkness, it only makes sense that she is nothing but a Mirage. And so she grows to wander the land without a trace of her existence, tricking those with weak minds, and toying with the intelligent others.

Mirage, Voraer and Anei's last daughter. Pictured here leaving no trace as she moves along the river shallows to fade into the misty lands that are her home...

Credits:
*larfsalot for the horse.
=resurgere for the backgrounds.
Painted the mane and tail, splashes, bits of her hind legs, bits of the background.
Time spent: At least 5 hours on the horse alone, another 4 or more on the background, another 4 or 5 to finish it.
Layers: Upwards of 50.

GORGEOUS manipulation. The background and horse are blended seamlessly together. ^_^ You chose a horse with a lot of movement, and that works here. So does the color scheme and overall effect. Great, great job!

It looks so simple, yet it takes so long and it's so intriquite. Don't you love it when you take hours and hours on something and it just turns out perfect?

The colors work so well together and I'm in love with your mane and tail. You did really well on the hind legs as well.

This really looks like you put a lot of thought into it. :hug:

Beautiful. I really love the horse, the tail is gorgeous the mane is a bit too clumped for me, but it still looks nice. The splashes are done really well, way to go :D

Don't even get me started on the mane >_> I redid it 3 times already -sighs- But oh wells xD

I am sooo happy with the splashes, one of my goals for the piece was to put a lot of effort into realistic splashes ^^

I love this. You can tell how much time and effort you put into it, those extra hours really are worth it. The only thing I would suggest (if you don't mind) is maybe put some sheen into the mane and tail. The horse is so shiny, but his hair looks dead.
